"pumpkin patch" 2010

little S made this one-eyed witch at school today. she also pointed out that she intended her to only have 1 hair hanging down by her 1 eye. she has a 1-thing theme going on. she came up to me this morning with one arm behind her back saying she only had one arm. i could tell she really didn't because i could clearly see that she was just hiding it behind her back.
mother of the year award again!!!!!!!!
we went to the "pumpkin patch" this evening. (trader joes had them on sale for $2.99 each :)
they each got to pick out their very own special pumpkin.
little S just picked the one closest to her.
D quietly looked around, not touching any, and then purposefully and gently picked up the one she planned for.
L and S's perfect pumpkins happened to be at the very bottom of the barrel.... so it took them awhile to get them out.

still looking.....
cinderella pumpkins. pretty.

did i mention how much the employees love it when we bring the whole family to grocery shop???? they just stare with their mouths open. at first we had smiles... then quickly the looks turned to shock... then to grimaces... then to shaking their heads.... then finally to relief when we finally got in line to check out.

ok. maybe it wasn't that bad. we got lots of smiles. and lots of...
"please tell me that baby is a boy!"
i accidentally but literally "ran" into (i seem to have a problem with that lately, maybe i need glasses) to our old neighbor. they are moving to scotland... so cool. i wish someone could say that about us. but no, it's more like...
"hey did you hear? the w's just got a minivan..."
not as cool for sure.
spooky spider rings from dinner.... where we shared a pitcher of sunbru.... which is probably why we thought it would be a good idea to go grocery shopping with the whole family.
the final selections.....

baby kisses

what is it about being attacked by your baby that is so completely enjoyable?

pretty purple flowers...

we went for a walk today after school. we were searching for pretty purple flowers. they are all abloom right now and i wanted to snip some and put them in a jar.

these were my little walk companions...
we saw lots of pretty purple flowers...

S was collecting pine cones...
pretty L next to the flowers...
S got some new .99 shoes the other day. they are neon green. they give her terrible blisters. she still insists on wearing them. she just pairs them with the most contrasting socks she can find to solve the problem.

baby R enjoying the fresh air...

D carried back the fresh bouquet for me.
turned out just how i imagined.

frightening....

i don't know which is more frightening.....

this picture.... or.....

the amount of halloween oreos i have stuffed in my face.

the thing is, they are one of the only cookies i can eat because they do not contain dairy, soy or eggs. which is frightening in itself.
this picture is also frightening. i found this little gem when i went to wash my hands the other day.
this little baby is feeling much better this week thanks to the new plan we formed with the g.i. pediatric specialist.
however, because of the "crying and pain" issue, i have not been able to focus on all the fun fall crafts i have been wanting to do. i haven't even put out my velvet pumpkins. i also don't think i'll be able to pull off the awesome halloween costume i thought of for me and paully... thanks to all the cookies. but i'm not spilling... just in case i get the flu and lose 15 lbs. in the next 2 weeks.
i did have one fun crafting night with my friend Liz. nevermind the mi's... it had been a long day and pscrubs had just taken the kids to pick out a movie at blockbuster. L and I were celebrating the quiet :) (for the 15 min. they were gone)
i made a halloween banner and the kids made some cute spooooky crafts of their own...

my sis picked up this cute cupcake for her m-i-l for her birthday. very festive :)
she also got me this pumpkin at trader joe's. i sure do love it :)
