girl party christmas style

we had so much fun at our girls night. we had our little cousins over and another special guest B. it was wild with so many girls running around( 7 sleeping over and met up with 2 more, that's 9 girls under the age of 8!). we bundled them all up, lined them up to go potty before we left, and headed out to find a santa sleigh ride. we met up with some dear friends and started our adventures for the night. we struck out 3 times! we planned on taking the horse drawn carriage @ casa poloma, no such luck. the rides only run thru the day. i had heard of a residence with tons of lights and a santa in the front yard. well, there were a ton of lights, even a sleigh!, but no santa. hmm. so we decided to head over to the famous tumbleweed christmas tree. it was beautiful... but still no santa. by that time we had worked up an appetite. we took over a small pizza place in downtown chandler. it was soooo good! then to burn off some pent up energy, the girls made piles with the leaves and threw them up, around and everywhere for about an hour. they were laughing so hard it was contagious. we headed home, got washed up, put on our matching pj's that C and A worked so hard on, and watched a christmas movie. finally everyone was asleep just before midnight (we are still paying for that one). thanks for coming over girls! we'll have to do it again next year!!!

*look who got some special time while all her sisters were in school! S helped us pick out the Christmas tree this year all by herself, well, with a little help from Ariel. It was even her turn this year to put the angel on the top of the tree.

Christmas bliss

i just had to share some of the fun things we have been doing to make the most of the holiday magic. my dad and stepmom had a dinner @ their house complete with games and an ice cream sundae bar ( a vat of homemade fudge) i helped myself to just a little. i don't eat much..... HA!
also i went to a christmas craft party with my big girl S. it was fun to spend the evening with just her. we decided to turn our tree into an angel tree. we made blank ornaments for the tree, and when the girls notice someone being extra nice or helpful, they write it down on the oranments and display it on the tree. i already wrote one for D, she is very aware and is always there when you need her, right in the nick of time. we had a blast eating yummy food, going on a hay ride and singing christmas carols. S was not afraid to jump right in there and lead. she must have inhereted my awesome singing talents. (i also noticed this talent at a kareoke birthday party where she belted out breakaway about 10 times.)

used bandaid blues

does anyone else have this problem? why do the children find it neccesary to remove their bandiads and put them anywhere and everywhere except the trash? i dont even see any injuries on their little bodies. i would also like to know who the ring leader is in distributing these bandaids. i swear, if i find one on my pillow it might just be the last straw....

thanksgiving extravaganza!

we had quite the thanksgiving weekend. we had family in from indy, brooklyn. providence, and philly. due to the kid sitch, we decided it would be the easiest to host at our house. i had fun decorating ( with some help from just about everybody) and everyone else brought the food ( i did make a turkey, 3lbs of cranberries and mashed potatos tho). worked great for me! we had a delicious meal and i am so thankful for all the food and good times. our guests from NY thought that Az reminded them a little bit of italy. so where better to go to than an olive mill. we sat outside and had a lovely lunch under the queen creek sun sampling wine, olives and pb&j for the kids. the kids had a magical time running wild for several hours. we played lots of games and learned our new favorite game... celebrity. P and I are still the undefeated champions of pictionary. challenge anyone?????? you will lose. we also enjoyed a quick trip to sedona, hikes and a kid free dinner @ el zocallo in dt chandler. yummo. i really didn't want the weekend to end. now i have 2 weeks to shed about 20 lbs of turkey weight before the christmas parties start!

did i mention we even did our own very accurate reenactment of the first thanksgiving?
