best bike ever!!!!!

i once had a perfect pink bike. i got it my senior year to ride to work after school. i loved that bike. someone (pdubs) made fun of it mercilessly. i didn't realize just how much he didn't like it until it was "accidentally" sold in our garage sale a few years after being married. i never quite recovered. i don't think he knew just how much i liked it. but now all is well. i found this old bike at a garage sale for $5. my gracious husband took it all apart, sanded, greased, painted it pink, bought new parts, put it back together and voila!!! it is even better than the first one! it is the best bike ever!

we had a lovely ride down the street.
so happy.



this was just down the driveway. not safe. don't do it. just had to test out that vintage basket. i didn't have a fresh bouquet of flowers or a baguette so i thought a cute baby would do.
all was great until......

this happened. the evening before her big recital.

btw... this is L and not little S. she didn't fall out of the basket or anything. she did cry when i took her out tho.

L did just fine. we cleaned her up, bandaged the toe and went to bed. she hobbled around a bit, but did just great in the recital.

bridal shower

it just wouldn't be a party without a banner....

we celebrated sarah's bridal shower this weekend. it was a lovely ladies tea held at this cool place. she got some really cool stuff too!!

my girls are a little obsessed with mermaids.

i saw this..

and thought.... summer art project! the girls loved this. S even blogged about it while still crafting. they loved customizing their mermaids, picking the clothes, hair, cutting bubbles, painting. this was right up their alley. now we need to find an open wall to hang their new masterpieces!!

ooc summertime...

things get a little out of control in the summertime. normally my children are not allowed any candy, especially suckers or any other kinds of teeth rotting, cavity giving types. ( not one cavity for any of them so far...) but in the summertime... they are consumed for breakfast.

one of my sweet angels, not naming any names,

is having an awfully hard time in the whining department this summer. she might be voted #1 whining queen for the last 3 weeks. she has been hot or cold since the day she was born. she is either the easiest, sweetest child you have ever been with, or... the opposite. usually she is very good, but for some reason, this has not been her summer. so this morning, after getting in trouble for whining appx. 2 min. after leaving a special summer movie at the theater, she was sent to her room as soon as we got home. her father came up with some "work" for her.

i was soon presented with this....

deal, mom? what is that about? i had to laugh though. i am pretty sure her heart was in the right place. how could i be mad after those promising words and beautiful pictures.

p.s. i think we'll go out for some ice cream tonight.

projects..

i am super excited about my bathroom and my new bike. they are getting very close to completion. p dubs has been working very hard on both. he made a mistake in the bathroom today (which i am not allowed to talk about) but it's ok. just a minor setback. now i need to find the perfect mirrors, a light, some glass shelves, some accesories and.....

it will be done!! (and it will have only taken a little over a year, but who's counting?)

let's totally crash this! who's in???

happy birthday little sister!

can you tell which one of these little ladies is my child? one of these things is doing it's own thing... what kind of a mother recycles a daisy vest? that is taking the green thing a little too far. poor L had to use her sister's vest from 3 years before. i barely even put the new patches on. she wondered why she couldn't have a vest like all the other girls, i told her the truth, it was because she was the most special daisy. she seemed ok with that.

summer so far...

here are some shots from the last day of school. the kids got to have an end of the year luau. oh man did they have fun. surprise surprise, i was in tears when the firefighters finally started to spray the kids. don't ask me why. the kids were just so excited, the anticipation, the big strong men donating their time for the kids pure enjoyment and delight, the smiles on their faces watching the kids jump and laugh and run. and i'm also a big sap.

so right after L's big daisy bridging ceremony (pictures to follow), Pdubs took the kids on a very special camping trip. they had a blast. tons of bugs, mud, sitting around the fire and other fun camping activites. i heard all about their wonderful adventures when they got back. they even brought me back a caterpillar which i was extremely thrilled and apprecative about.
never eat alone.

before we left on our trip, S made us a huge paris display. i loved her pictures and explinations...
one of the best deliveries you could get first thing in the morning.....

how lucky am i that my sissy can make these wonderful things? not so lucky for my scale.

me and the girlzzzzz...

i just love this picture of my little squishy faced baby.

i had a lovely weekend with the little girls. p dubs took the big girls camping. i thought they would never come home. i guess they were having a wonderful time. it's cool tho. me and my little homies had a pretty big weekend. we got to have a sleepover with auntie sar and auntie nattie and TBA. we hung out and watched Taken. creepy. cool tho cuz it was filmed in PARIS!!!

now little S woke up pretty grumpy, which made it tough to do all the things we wanted to do. she was not being a nice cousin. S and TBA were at it all day. good thing they are so stinkin cute.
naughty things:
1. S hit TBA on the head with a toy pot.
2. S yelled "no" loudly pretty much all weekend
3. TBA quickly ( like the speed of lightning) knocked a full soda all over her mommy... funny, not funny for nat :(
4. D has all kinds of new scratches on her sweet little face from "loving" on kitty Charlotte.

good things:
1. we found all the material for the flower girls dresses
2. nat and i found our shoes for the wedding (patent leather, so cool and retro)
3. i was telling D about my wonder cat Patches, and how she used to go to the bathroom on the toilet (true story) anyway, she laughed and said "what? she didn't have her own glitter box?"
4. sar found her super cute shoes for the wedding.
5. we stayed up late and had an oreo picninc in the front room. they loved that!
6. watched benjiman button (weird) and jon and kate plus 8 (disturbingly sad)
7. did a photo shoot of an awesome family
8. had lots of time to just hang out and play
